Here we give you a list with brief information about some of the most popular poker games. * Texas Hold'em Texas Hold'em is though to be the most preferable poker game. It is a "community card" game, which actually means that some cards are dealt face-up in the middle of the table and can be used by all players to form the best hand they can. Each player, who takes part in Texas Hold'em game has two down cards. These cards are personal and can be used only by the player who is holding them. The most popular through the poker games is usually played for high only. Each player makes the best five-card combination to contend for the pot. Forming the best hand he can, the player may even choose to "play the board" and use no hole cards at all. Identical five-card hands split the pot; the sixth and seventh cards are not used to break ties. * Omaha This poker game is a variation of Hold'em. The main difference between the two games is that Omaha is played with four down cards. In the beginning all players are dealt four cards face down and five community cards are dealt face up in the center of the table. Any combination of two pocket cards and three board cards must be used to make your best poker hand. You are obliged to use exactly two hole cards, also known as pocket cards, to make the best hand you can. * Seven Card Stud Seven Card Stud is one of the poker games that can be found in three variations: high, low and high-low. In seven-card high, the highest ranking hand takes the pot and as it is logical - in seven-card low, the lowest hand wins. When playing seven-card high-low, you need to know that you and your opponents will have to compete for both extremes with the highest hand and the lowest hand each claiming half the pot. In each variation, players receive seven cards. The first three cards are dealt in defined way - two face down, one up. After that there is a betting round. The next three cards are dealt open with a betting round after each. Then comes the last card. The remaining players, who have not folded, therefore have four open and three closed cards from which they choose their best hand.
